The Magic Roundabout

This is the "Magic Roundabout" in Hemel Hempstead, UK. It's one of only three like it in the country. There's one in Swindon, Colchester and good old Hemel Hempstead. What makes the Magic Roundabout so special, you ask? This is no ordinary roundabout my friends. You see, in most roundabouts, you enter, watch for traffic coming from the right, and travel clockwise through the roundabout until you get to your exit.

In this, the "Magic" Roundabout, once you enter the roundabout, you then have to pass through SIX MORE ROUNDABOUTS around the perimeter of the first roundabout. What this means is that traffic travels both clockwise AND counterclockwise around this "Magic" Roundabout.

The roundabout is a bit scary, especially from someone used to driving on the RIGHT side of the road, but people in the UK seem to love it. It's been voted one of the most "beloved" roundabouts and also one of the worst ones in the whole of the country.

But don't just take my word for it. This is the 21st century! Let's get interactive web2.0!!

Just take a look at this video.
