SYNOPSIS
Nazis? Bunnies? Yep. All true. How do we know? Because someone scrapbooked it.
As the German war machine brutally marched across Europe, its highest-ranking officials were simultaneously obsessed with Operation Angora, a bizarre, doomed project led by SS chief Heinrich Himmler to breed millions of Angora rabbits to supply the army, navy and air force with wool for uniforms. This short documentary uses original, meticulous SS documentation—including records from concentration camps like Sachsenhausen, Dachau and Auschwitz—to expose the grotesque contradiction of the Nazi regime: unparalleled cruelty paired with a fanatical dedication to a ridiculous, harebrained scheme involving fluffy bunnies.
